Desert safari

December 2018

A must-do in Dubai: thrilling dune bashing through the desert followed by an unforgettable Arabian night under the stars with traditional food, music, and entertainment.

Dune bashing

When we arrived in Dubai, one of the first things on our list was to experience the vast desert. At that time, we didn’t have a 4x4 vehicle of our own and had no experience driving in desert conditions. Booking a desert safari with an experienced guide felt like the perfect solution.

We loved the concept: we were picked up directly from our home and shared a spacious vehicle with our friends—another family joining the adventure. From pickup to drop-off, the entire experience lasted about six hours.

The tour included an adrenaline-filled dune bashing experience in a powerful 4x4 vehicle, expertly driven across the rolling dunes. We also enjoyed a close-up encounter with camels—petting them, feeding them, and even taking a short ride to truly embrace the desert tradition.

A fascinating falcon experience gave us the chance to admire these majestic birds up close and learn more about their important role in Emirati culture. To top it all off, we tried sandboarding, gliding down the soft golden dunes and soaking in the breathtaking desert scenery all around us.

Arabian Heritage night

In the evening, we enjoyed an Arabic Heritage and Bedouin-style experience set in a magical One Thousand and One Nights atmosphere, complete with live shows, henna painting, shisha, and a delicious BBQ dinner featuring three different cuisines.

These days, we have our own 4x4, so we organize our own desert adventures and camping trips.
